judging colour temperature

the task for this exercise was to take three shots at different white balance settings and judge what corrections, if any, need to be done.

i used my obedient assistant as a model, and here she is photographed in ” daylight ” white balance settings

DU1E0014

this setting results in a true reflection of the colours and the image is the most natural one

next setting of white balance was ” shade ”

DU1E0016

this image is too yellow and does not really work…

last setting was  ” auto ” white balance setting

DU1E0020

the auto setting of the white balance results into a slightly washed out colours and a bleachy overall feeling…

to conclude, the best setting for this scenario was a ” daylight ” white balance since it resulted in the most natural looking image
