judging colour temperature

the task for this exercise was to take three shots at different white balance settings and judge what corrections, if any, need to be done.

i used my obedient assistant as a model, and here she is photographed in ” daylight ” white balance settings



this setting results in a true reflection of the colours and the image is the most natural one

next setting of white balance was ” shade ”


this image is too yellow and does not really work…

last setting was  ” auto ” white balance setting


the auto setting of the white balance results into a slightly washed out colours and a bleachy overall feeling…

to conclude, the best setting for this scenario was a ” daylight ” white balance since it resulted in the most natural looking image
