Exercise 14 – cropping

so for this one i had to find three images of different subjects…look at them, crop them, describe and explain the logic behind the cropping…

1.st paul’s and millennium bridge – original and cropped photo


i prefer the original photo, since it gives a better sense of perspective. the cropped one was done vertically to stress the shape of the church but for me it does not work as well as the original image

2.st paul’s and millennium bridge again.. – original and cropped photo

same as above, prefer the original image. in the cropped one i took out the people sitting on the side, and concentrated on the architecture only, but the missing human element in the photo makes the cropped image boring to me…

3.prague this time – original and cropped photo

this time i prefer the cropped image since it makes the focus point of the image more prominent…
