Exercise 12 – positioning the horizon

so let’s find „ a reasonably interesting landscape with a clear and unbroken horizon “ and take a range of photos where the horizon is ranged from top to teh bottom of the image and think about why to place the horizon in different postions and which ones do work…

so i will use for this eercise a number of photos taken at our local beach and to add a bit of an interesting element to it, there is my dog on each of the photos…

the combination of the running dog and the differently placed horizon is quite interesting since each photo seems to have different athmosphere and sense of movement in the space, depending on how much sky and sea and sand there is….

conclusion : i  like most the frist two photos, where the horizon is placed fairly low in the photograph, and as a result there is a sense of the vast beach and the space around, with the dog running towards the horizon it seems…the last two photos, where the dog is closer, the horizon is high up on the photo, are fairly static and not so interesting…
